Brownsboro Road Diet & Sidewalk Receive Overwhelming Public Support

Approximately 75 supporters gathered tonight to hear details on the Brownsboro Road Diet and Sidewalk project. The project is expected to break ground this summer. This news was met with enthusiastic applause from the crowd, whose only complaint was that the project wasn't already complete!

Councilwoman Tina Ward-Pugh presented spokespeople from Public Works and TARC.

Stickers and signs proclaimed "I support the Brownsboro Rd. Sidewalk".
Green stickers and signs were held by supporters. But support was so strong we ran out of both! This is a nice problem to have.

Citizens gathered to hear details. Prominent were members of the Blind community, Clifton Community Council, Clifton Heights Community Council. Equally numerous were walking and bicycling advocates from CART and Bicycling for Louisville.

Bicyclists arrived enjoying the full glory of a beautiful spring day. This couple chose their beautiful red tandem cruiser. About 20% of the meeting attendees came by bicycle. Yay bicycles!

'Thank you' to all for coming out! The message was loud and clear:

If you need a vital active transportation change, and it costs vehicular travel lanes, then do it anyway. The community has got your back!
