Kentucky & Southern Indiana, I am surprised & actually kind-of impressed:
Want to go through the country on an epic journey, without getting too hot or too cold? Well, you pretty much will be coming through our region/state, won'cha? That's just what this nutjob had to do. While bicycle tourist dollars are not going to single-handedly revive our economy, it's nice to have these folks coming through. Nothing in life is more fun than rolling into an new town on your bicycle and finding an open diner or grocery store.

KYTC update
Writes Lynn Soporowski (KYTC):
David,
Kentucky was actually one of the first states to have a national bike route: the Transamerica. In fact ACA leads at least one tour a year on some part of the Transamerica route.
ACA-Adventure Cycling Association was designated by AASHTO-American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials as the agency responsible for working with state DOTs and local bike enthusiast to denote national bike routes.
We have added all three existing ACA routes to Kentucky’s Bike Tour Maps online and they will be a part of the next printed map update as well.
Our info-tech guru’s are working on some downloadable apps for fancy cell phones for bike tours. Stay tuned.
