Louisville's Bicycle Route Planning Software Launches Today

Writes Scott Render of Bike Louisville:

Ride the City has been getting a LOT of feedback from our community on their tool and for the last month or so they’ve been tweaking the routes.  It “officially” launched today per their blog

More modifications coming soon including:

  • A user rating system.  Riders can create a profile and provide their own, personal ratings for streets that will be taken into account only when they generate their own routes. In addition, Ride the City will average all those ratings together and apply them to our baseline ratings. We have a rudimentary system in place now that could be available to a limited number of users in September, and will roll out to everyone this fall.
  • A button in the left column that says “Go” or “Create Route” or something like that so it’s easier for people to see it instead of hitting the return key.
  • Local non-profit companies logos and links along the bottom of the site – and perhaps other local companies who are paid advertisers
