transportation is not recreation
The city is investing attention and money on a bike route for leisure. This has virtually nothing to do with biking as a transportation system. There is a big difference between bike-fun and bike-work, and I don't know how to leverage that distinction in this thread, so I'll just stop at this: Problems need to be solved; distractions from problem-solving is needed now and then; we're letting the fun get in the way of the work. Why not tithe (10% spin off) the money and attention towards biking infrastructure instead of myopia at leisure? (Note: Bible and Biking start with the first two letters, which might mean something here.)
Please tell me how I am in error.
you're right
I totally agree that parks has missile lock on recreational trails. This is no different from what Parks has always done, with its network of municipal golf courses. Its just that the public taste has shifted a bit away from golf to cycling/walking.
How'd it go?
I got there just as they closed up shop. I didn't realize how far away that place is!
